A Dragon, 2017
60” x 30”, oil on canvas
White-headed crows welcoming autumn.
No painting can tell you what age will appear.
But sometimes a dragon emerges in a wash of ink.
I have no faith that art can bring about social change. But sometimes I find myself wondering if art, almost by accident, can now and then act as an oracle, or like oracles bones cracked in a fire, where the future could be read.
